I choose not to go down the rocky road of fat vs carbs or vegan vs paleo. It's a misdirection. If losing weight and being healthy is the goal, follow the middle section of the diagram. It will take you a long way. And, you will never look back. The foods at the top taste great, but provide no feeling of satiety. And that's a serious problem.
